A660™ Acid Bond

Solidifies most acids into a solid mass

A660™ is an environmentally friendly solidifying agent (MSDS available below) for acids. A660™ has been tested on:

  • Phosphoric Acid
  • Sulfuric Acid
  • Hydrofluoric Acid
  • Muriatic (Hydrochloric) Acid
  • Acetic Acid
  • Hydrazine Acid
  • Chromium Trioxide Acid

A660™ is a dry granular material specifically designed to immobilize acid spills. Unlike absorbents that just soak-up the liquid strictly through expansion, A660™ bonds the acid to prevent dripping and further contamination. This product is suitable to bond or congeal the spill to slow or stop the spread of the liquid.

Spread evenly on the surface of a spill, and allow solidification process to occur and then remove as conditions permit.

The amount of product to be used depends on the type of acid spilled and the desired results. The application rate may vary from those tested due to viscosity, temperature and concentration. Some examples of the bonding ratios are: Phosphoric Acid (75%) - 1:5, Sulfuric Acid (95%) - 1:10 (generates heat; see MSDS), Hydrazine (35%) - 1:20, Hydrazine (64%) - 1:30, Ammonia - 1:15, Nitric Acid (65%) - 1:6.

When most fuels are solidified they will pass TCLP testing and can be landfilled according to EPA guidelines or incinerated (all A600 series products are certified incinerable). A660™ has passed the Toxic Characteristics Leachate Procedure (TCLP). The test was conducted by a laboratory which is recognized by the Ohio EPA A660™ is not hazardous according to D.O.T. classification. Extreme caution must be exercised when handling, storing and disposing of solidified or gelled hazardous materials. COMPLIANCE: Solidified or gelled materials must be disposed of in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The user is solely responsible for compliance with disposal of solidified or gelled materials.

All statements, technical information and recommendations contained herein are abased on information and tests we believe to be reliable. The accuracy or completeness thereof are not guaranteed.
