A610™ Petro Bond

Solidifies water-born petroleum based spills

A610™ PETRO BOND is an environmentally friendly petroleum bonding agent designed primarily for water-borne spills. Petroleum-based products include oils, fuels, solvents, paints, etc.

A610™ Petro Bond is:

  • Non-toxic
  • Non-hazardous
  • Non-corrosive

It is a dry granular material specifically designed to immobilize petroleum-based, (on water or land) liquid spills by coagulating and bonding the liquid.

Unlike absorbents that soak up the liquid through expansion A610™ bonds the liquid into a removable mass with minimal volumetric increase and retains the liquid for easier removal. This eliminates the dripping sponge effect by not allowing the liquid to be squeezed out and minimizes any residue or contamination. While bonding the petroleum-based spill, it does not pick up any water in the process. This allows A610™ to be used on land for preventative measures prior to a possible spill. For example, a trench around a petroleum storage area or under an in-ground tank could be filled with A610™ to prevent ground contamination in case of a leak. The application rate may vary with viscosity of the liquid being picked up. To fully solidify the liquid normally requires one (1) pound of A610™ to fifteen (15) pounds of spilled liquid. Test on small sample for predictable rate usage. Pick up ratio and speed of solidification will vary with type of liquid being bonded, amount of volatiles remaining, temperatures and the viscosity of the liquid. When most fuels are solidified they will pass TCLP testing and can be landfilled according to EPA guidelines or incinerated (all A600 series products are certified incinerable). Nochar's A610™ has passed the Toxic Characteristics Leachate Procedure (TCLP) The test was conducted by a laboratory which is recognized by the Ohio EPA. Extreme caution must be exercised when handling, storing and disposing of solidified or gelled hazardous materials.

COMPLIANCE: Solidified or gelled materials must be disposed of in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The user is solely responsible for compliance with disposal of solidified or gelled materials. All statements, technical information and recommendations contained herein are abased on information and tests we believe to be reliable. The accuracy or completeness thereof are not guaranteed.
